Since version 24 (2020), Adobe Illustrator permits the creation of an oversized canvas.
To create it, simply specify a large artboard when creating a new document.
Unfortunately, the oversized canvas is a hack — the document is actually created at 1/100 scale and only appears large in the Illustrator interface.
The oversized canvas doesn’t work with Svija — the SVG is exported at 1/100 scale, and the resulting pages are minuscule.
