How to use Hard Spaces in Adobe Illustrator

In order to indent a line or separate two words in a line, it is occasionally  useful to use hard spaces.

In Adobe Illustrator this is alt-space (Mac).

Depending on your country the keyboard may be marked option instead of alt.
